Description: Antique coastal report chart of Olympia Harbor in Washington, when it was Washington Territory. Includes water depths and a sparsely populated Olympia. According to historian Lynn Middleton Olympia was named at the suggestion of Colonel Issac N. Ebey after the Olympic Mountain Range though the area has had a long list names. Documented names by the Native Americas are Stu-chus-and, Stitchas, and Stehchass. The settlers would call the area New Market, Smithter, and Smithfield before settling on Olympia.
Browning has taken place to varying degrees along the fold lines on all three maps. Two of the maps have been backed to prevent tearing along fold lines.
